Pop Warner Football & Cheer

Season introduction

Governor Phil Murphy recently announced that football and cheerleading will be allowed to begin on July 20th in the state of New Jersey.  (https://www.nj.gov/governor/news/news/562020/approved/20200615c.shtml )


Pop Warner has now issued "Return to Play" guidelines to support the announcement to allow football and cheerleading to start on July 20th.  (please see attached documents).  These guidelines must be adhered to for any program to field football and cheerleading teams in 2020.  


Based on the approval by Governor Phil Murphy and using the guidelines provided by Pop Warner, the A&M Redbirds Pop Warner program expects to start our season on late July/early August.  


We know that conditions may change significantly before the start of the season, but we are just trying to get organized as best as we can for the upcoming season.   Any decision is obviously subject to change if the state of New Jersey and/or Pop Warner make any changes to their current rulings and recommendations.  The safety of the children in our program is our highest priority.

Pop Warner Football & Cheer  3rd GRADE + UP


 Season: August - November
Registration Fee: $200

Registration is waitlist only.  No payment will be required at this time until a minimum number of registrations are received.

Football Practice will begin  August 3, 2020

Cheer Practice will begin late July

To be eligible, participants must be born between
August 1, 2005 - July 31, 2015


Pop Warner Flag Football & Flag Cheer (Ages 5, 6 & 7) 

Season: August - Early November
Registration Fee: $100

Registration is waitlist only.  No payment will be required at this time until a minimum number of registrations are received.

Please Note:  Booster club dues, uniform deposit, work bond and required form will be collected at uniform distribution.

All volunteers 18 years and older, are required to have a valid background check every (3) years, however, coaches involved with Pop Warner are required to adhere to the additional requirements set forth by Pop Warner as stated below.

Pop Warner programs nationwide are required to annually conduct a background check of: Coaches, Board of Directors members and any other persons, volunteers or hired workers, who provide regular service to the league and/or have repetitive access to, or contact with, players and/or spirit participants. The purpose of these background checks is, first and foremost, to protect the children. In accordance with Pop Warner’s Child Protection Policy, background checks must be performed ANNUALLY prior to the start of the volunteer’s service in Pop Warner.

The registration fee will not be collected at this time. You will be placed on a waiting list until the minimum number of registrations is received to form teams.
